Home window tinting in Pinellas Park, FL

Films for the house

Window film for your home

Heat, glare, privacy and safety are four separate products, and the one that fixes your kitchen is rarely the one that fixes the bathroom. Most houses we quote end up with two of these — which is cheaper than putting the wrong one on every window.

Solar control

Solar control film

Most of the sun’s heat turned back and effectively all of its UV, with the view left alone — so floors, art and furniture stop fading on the window side first. No metal in it either, so wifi, alarms and car keys carry on as they were.

Glare control

Glare control film

A grade aimed at brightness rather than heat, for the rooms where the complaint is that you can’t see the monitor or the television. North-facing glass usually needs this one and nothing else.

Full pane or banded

Frosted privacy

Privacy film

An etched-glass finish applied to the inside of the pane. Bathrooms, front doors and ground-floor glass onto a sidewalk: the light still comes through, the detail doesn’t. It can be cut as a band at eye level rather than the whole window.

Safety and security

Safety film

A thick clear laminate bonded to the inside of the pane. It won’t make a door burglar-proof on its own, and we won’t tell you it does — what it does is hold a broken pane together instead of letting it land on the floor.

Your options

Choosing window film for each room

The room that gets too bright may need a different solution from the bathroom facing a neighbour. Start with the rooms you actually want to improve.

Daylight, outlook and everyday comfort considered together.

The afternoon living room

Note which windows face the sun and when the room becomes uncomfortable. That helps focus a solar-control discussion on the glass causing the problem.

Useful starting point: room, window direction and time of day.

The screen-side workspace

Describe the glare on your desk or television and how much daylight you want to keep. Compare samples from inside the room.

Balance the screen with the view beyond it.

The overlooked window

Discuss frosted or decorative finishes for spaces where privacy matters. Reflective film’s privacy depends on the lighting on each side, so consider evenings too.

Glass type and compatibility are checked before fitting.

How to book home window tinting

Window film is the rare improvement that doesn’t involve drop cloths, a dumpster or two weeks of someone’s radio. Here’s the whole of it, from the phone call to having your afternoons back.

A kitchen window over the sink, measured before any film is ordered

We measure before we quote

Every window gets measured, and we check what the glass already is. Some panes take film happily and some don’t, and knowing which is which before we order is how you avoid a cracked window later.

Film cut to your glass

Each pane is cut to its own profile and its edges taken back a hair from the seal, so the film sits inside the frame line rather than lapping onto it. This is the step cheap installs skip, and it’s the one you see for the next fifteen years.

An installer working a squeegee across a full-height pane of glass from the inside

Planned around your day

Furniture comes about three feet off the wall and goes back before we leave. It’s a wet application — water, a squeegee and a towel — so no dust, no drilling, no smell and nothing to air out afterwards.

For the first few days the film looks faintly hazy and you may see small pockets of water behind it. That’s the last of the mounting solution leaving, it’s meant to happen, and it clears on its own.

Questions about home window tinting in Pinellas Park

How much does home window tinting cost?

Home window tinting usually costs from $7 to $15 per square foot fitted, so most homes spend between $500 and $2,500. The price depends on how much glass you have and the film you choose.

Which windows in my home should I tint?

Start with the windows that get the most sun, usually the south- and west-facing ones, and the rooms where heat, glare or fading is a problem.

Will reflective window film give me privacy at night?

No. Reflective film gives privacy in the daytime, when it is brighter outside. At night, with lights on inside, people can see in, so choose frosted or blackout film where you need privacy after dark.

Can window film go on double-pane windows?

Yes, on most of them. We check the type of glass first so the film suits it, and we tell you if a window should not be filmed.

What do you need for a home window tinting quote?

The rooms, rough window sizes and what you want to fix: heat, glare, fading or privacy. Photos help.

Does window film keep a house cooler?

Yes. Solar window film turns away a large share of the sun’s heat and blocks over 99% of UV, so rooms stay cooler and floors and furniture fade less.

How long does it take to tint the windows in a house?

Most homes are done in a few hours to a day, depending on how many windows there are.

Does the tint come with a warranty?

Yes. Union car film comes with Union’s limited lifetime warranty against bubbling, peeling and fading on qualifying installs.
